Northumberland Peaceful,
unspoilt Northumberland
is a region of spectacular castles
and coastline
and is ideal for walking.

There are numerous places of interest to visit, such as Kielder
Water, Holy
Island of Lindisfarne and the Scottish Borders, to name a few.
Durham & Newcastle In
County Durham, the land of Prince Bishops, you can see Durham
Cathedral and Beamish
Museum.

To the east there is Newcastle
and the Gateshead Metro Centre,
(20 mins. drive) one of the largest shopping complexes in Europe. Hadrian's Wall Country Hadrian's
Roman Wall is but a few miles away, where you can visit forts
at Vindolanda and Housesteads and Chesters.

You may like to take advantage of the Hadrian's
Wall Bus which often has a guide on board. Hexham Historic Hexham has
a wide variety of cafes and restaurants, good antique shops, leisure and
sporting facilities. Enjoy the Grade 1 listed English Heritage Hexham Abbey and the park adjoining
with its bandstand, bowling green and floral display. The surrounding
area is excellent walking country, has quiet roads and is central to many
places of interest. Enjoy more images of North East England
