There are numerous places of interest to visit, such as Kielder Water, Holy Island of Lindisfarne and the Scottish Borders, to name a few.

Durham & Newcastle

To the east there is Newcastle and the Gateshead Metro Centre, (20 mins. drive) one of the largest shopping complexes in Europe.

Hadrian's Wall Country

Hexham

Hexham Abbey, Hexham, Northumberland © SnowgooseHistoric Hexham has a wide variety of cafes and restaurants, good antique shops, leisure and sporting facilities. Enjoy the Grade 1 listed English Heritage Hexham Abbey and the park adjoining with its bandstand, bowling green and floral display. The surrounding area is excellent walking country, has quiet roads and is central to many places of interest.
